I don't need to say more after these famous quotes and am sure you know what I am going to talk about. Music, it's been called many things -- the Universal language, a great healer, even a reflection of Divine energy. All across history and ancient times, music has been used in all cultures for healing and medicines. Today science also confirms that humans are wired to respond to music. Many patients especially with mental illnesses like Parkinson's, depression, etc. may help people heal. Many researchers are exploring how music affects different groups of people and how it could play a role in health care.

Pregnant women and Infants:-

Our ancient Vedas and our scriptures talk about garbsanskar, which is the science of how babies responds to music. Soothing music after 24 weeks of pregnancy affects the baby in a positive way. It develops the brain, soothes and relaxes the baby. Researchers show that babies who heard a song repeatedly while in the womb seemed to calm when the same song was played after they were born.

Improves sleep:-

Listening to classical or relaxing music an hour before bedtime can help create a sense of relaxation and peace which leads to better sleep.

Reduce mental anxiety and stress:-

'Music therapy is an established form of therapy to help individuals address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs', says famous Psychologist. Feeling overwhelmed about an upcoming exam or a competition, a few minutes of listening to your favorite music relaxes you.

Memory:-

Studies have shown that listening to certain type of music like instrumental, flute-based, etc. helps you recall things much easily. Learning a new musical instrument and singing enhances short-term and working memory. It also helps stimulate the left and right brain.

Boost your energy:-

While exercising, cleaning, etc. when you need the energy levels up, upbeat music can lift your mood. Many use music at the start of their day to kickstart their mornings.

So many reasons for you to enjoy your favorite music all the more now. Do plug in your headphones or start your playlist and get going!
