 The Bridge And The Boy

Author : AADI KAPIL

Ambitions and dream are the only two things which keep us going through the thick and thin of life. This story of the courage of a small boy from the hills is a vivid example of his perseverance and never die spirit brings his all he ever wanted. My story traces his journey from being no-body to the most sort out boy in the country. The boy called Aarush was never like anyone else. He loved studying and computers. To get to his school, he would have to cross a river. Crossing the river wasn't a problem in the summers and winters but in the monsoons, it was a big problem. He always thought of building a bridge over the river. No one in the village had the money to do it. In school, he was the topper in class. Never less than 70%. He also got A or A- in the computers. Aarush's computer teacher helped him a lot. He always wanted to be 2 grades ahead. He wanted to complete Java in 5th grade. Not every one in a while were international competitions. These mostly happened every 4 years. 2020, that means 4th year! It was a computer competition which was unusual. No-one participated in the competition except Aarush. His teacher helped him learn the 3 languages for the competitions. JS, HTML and CSS which are used mostly for web-designing. There were three weeks left to prepare. So if he learned 1 language per week, he would do it. Not the full language was required to be learnt, only the basics. Aarush was a bit busy because of his exams in the two weeks. What's left? One week left to prepare. 3 languages to learn. He spent 5 sleepless nights learning the basics. The next day was the competition. The competition was luckily not too far. Everyone was surprised that they all can build houses enough for them with the prize of the competition. Not only that but the bridge! Everyone contributed their fuel to reach Dehli. Aarush spent 7 hours in to room. The results were the next day. India, Himachal Pradesh, Palampur, Aarush! All of the houses were built and most importantly the "Bridge"!
