Me and My friends Making Smart Dustbin
Me and My friends Making Smart Dustbin
When we speak of Science Fair, I am reminded of the various creative and different projects presented by students of my age and others as well. I believe this is a great opportunity to upgrade our skill in addition to the Science taught in the class.
I was part of a very interesting project that we did for a Science Exhibition organized by our school in April 2019. The project that we presented was – “SMART DUSTBIN”. There were three other projects but we chose this, since “Swach Bharat Abhiyaan” was being promoted and it is everybody’s job to keep the surroundings clean.
We formed a team of 4 for this project and we learnt about sharing responsibility, sticking to timelines and strong coordination between the team members. We arranged for a dustbin, InfraRed sensors, Jumper WIRE and Arduino circuit. This project also required knowledge of Coding. We were so involved and excited about the project that we worked day and night and finished the project within 4 days. We were all set for the Science Exhibition.
On the day of exhibition, we took turns to present and explain the project to visitors and the judges. We were thrilled when the visitors shared positive feedback. We also visited other projects being presented that day. Working model of Volcano, Parts of Human Body, Smoke Alarm and Hydraulic Parking Lot were other projects which I really liked. The presentation and the working models of these projects were done very well.
We were awarded the 1st position for our project. We were thrilled and euphoric when the results were announced. A Gold Medal and a Trophy was presented to our team for the project.
