Some say that inspiring stories can’t change the world, I don’t believe that. I believe that some people’s stories can change the way people act and think. I’m going to be talking about women from all around the world whose stories have changed people. So, let’s get started.
- Johanna Nordblad:-
Johanna was a free-diving champion. She loved diving underwater without the use of air tanks, she felt as if she was flying. Then one day she had a terrible leg accident, her leg was so badly broken that the doctors thought that they would have to remove it. The only way to save the leg was to plunge it into ice water. It was painful but her leg had slowly begun to heal, and Johanna had actually started to enjoy the feeling of the icy coldness. When she was strong enough, Johanna started to swim underneath the ice. If it hadn’t been for the accident, she would have never discovered her love for ice-diving. She says that a curse is a blessing in disguise.
- Lauren potter: -
Lauren was diagnosed with down syndrome the day she was born. Shortly after taking her first steps which were at the age of two, she started going to dancing and acting classes. Her parents encouraged her to follow her passion for the arts from a very young age. At school, her classmates were not supportive. Bullies made fun of her and she was even forced to eat sand. But soon after all of her classmate’s torment, a huge opportunity to play a cheerleader on a T.V show called Glee came along. She enjoyed the fame that came with being an actress but she wanted to help other people. She was appointed by Barack Obama to the president’s committee for people with intellectual disabilities, and she starred in commercials against bullying.
- Beyonce: -
Beyonce was only eight years old when she told her mom that she wanted to form a band with her friends. One song at a time, one album at a time, one concert at a time, Beyonce became a power-house and an inspiration to people around the world. She sang about freedom, social injustice, independence, and pain. She inspired people all around the world to be proud of their culture, origin, and their own unique style. When Beyonce was asked to perform during the half-time show at the super bowl, she entered the stadium leading an army of female dancers all dressed in black. With her compelling song ‘Formation,’ she dropped a power anthem in front of one hundred million viewers. Today, she is the most influential living pop-star in the world.
These women have inspired us to be ourselves and never give up when life gets tough. They have inspired us to believe in ourselves and learn from our mistakes. They have taught us to be positive in the toughest of situations. They are truly inspiring personalities
