How I Deal With My Younger Sibling
Author : AKSHAYA ANAND
I was two years old when my brother was born. I remember being so happy and excited for the new edition to my family. I thought that having a sibling was a dream come true, but I soon realized that having a brother wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. As he grew up, we found it harder to control his outbursts and temper tantrums. I always thought that my brother was my parent's favourite child because when he wanted something, he got what he wanted but when I wanted something, I had to work for it. When his tantrums suddenly spun out of control, I decided to take matters into my own hands and soon his behaviour started to decrease. Today, I am going to tell you how I deal with my younger sibling.
Nowadays, no matter what mood he is in, my brother always does what I ask him to do. To make him listen to me, I always tell him that I'm going to tell our father all the mischievous things that he has ever done if he doesn't do what I say. That technique always works because there are many things that he has done that our parents don't know about, like the time he burnt a dosa by putting the flame on high and blaming it on me or the time he accidentally broke the wooden chair in the dining room by jumping on it. When my brother is sad or cranky and doesn't want to do any work, I let him do whatever he wants until 11 o'clock and then when he is in his happy place, I tell him the list of chores that he has around the house and then he does those chores. When he is moody, I take one of his Rubiks cubes until he apologises and snaps out of his moodiness.
In conclusion, I do love my brother a lot but sometimes he can be extremely annoying. He has a good heart and I know that he doesn't mean to have outbursts but he can be really moody. But nobody is perfect and that includes my brother, but this is how I deal with his moodiness, crankiness and everything else that comes with him.
