Swadeshi Movement - Need Of Time

To fight with British Empire Indians adopted Swadeshi movement. During this movement people of India were asked to buy only Indian products and boycott British products to help our local economy to improve. Due to change in economy British government was forced on back foot.

We are now in 21st century the era of globalization and technology. The products are available from all across globe as per requirement. The customers are having choice to purchase as per their requirement. But at the same time this globalization has impacted the local economy and small entrepreneurs.

In recent pandemic the world has seen the very deep impact on economy due to dependency on imports especially from China. It is now necessary to review and rethink about globalization and economy. This is the reason Indian government has announce “Atmanribhar Bharat”. This is the demand of the time to become self-dependent and utilize our resources in optimized way. We have to be vocal for local. We should promote the buy and use only Indian products. It is the time where we should be ‘vocal for local’ and ‘local for global’ and help our Indian brands to have global presence.


India is the country having second largest population in the world. We are one of the youngest countries which mean average age is less. We are having potential to become manufacturing hub and do production for the globe. This will help to meet our internal consumption and intensify export activities so that we rely less on imported products.

This is the extension of Swadeshi Movement started during our freedom fight. We are having potential to become developed country with initiate. So let all of us take oath to be “Vocal for Local “ and “Local for Global”.
