My Favorite Author

Hello guys, hope you all are fine. Today as is evident from the title, the topic is my favorite author. You all will agree that storybooks are always interesting as the stories take you to another fantasy world. Everybody has one or the other favorite author. Let me tell you about mine. To know about her, you know what to do. Of course, read below.

My favorite author is Sudha Murty. I love reading her books because of their interesting stories. I have read two of her books in the lockdown. I had even fixed a schedule of reading at least 2 stories at night before sleeping. All of her stories are funny, spirited and inspiring which teach us a valuable lesson about the importance of doing what you believe is right and having the courage to realize your dreams. Her stories are enjoyed by people of all age groups ranging from children up to senior citizens. Being a prolific writer in English and Kannada, she has written many novels, technical books, travelogues, collection of short and non-fictional pieces, and many books for children. Her books have been translated into all major Indian languages.

She was born in 1950 in Shigga on which is in the north of Karnataka. She did her MTech in computer science, and is now the chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. She became the first female engineer hired at TELCO- India's largest auto manufacturer. Sudha Murty was the recipient of the R.K Narayan Award for literature for literature, the Padma Shri in 2006, and the Attimabbe Award from the government of Karnataka for excellence in Kannada literature in 2011.I got to know more about her when she was once invited to a famous quiz show on TV. Apart from being an author, I like her as a human being because she is very much down to earth and is a staunch philanthropist.

Oh! Time’s up. I always enjoy sharing facts about a place, person or anything with you all and I hope you will also read her books. Ok then, I even have to order a book for me to read. I finished the pending stories yesterday only. See you in my next blog, byeee!!
