Hello everyone!! My name is Siyona Sachith and today I’m going to tell a story on Halloween!! Shhhhh!! It’s going to be spooky..

Halloween was started by Celts who lived 2000 years ago in an area which is now called as Ireland. The Celts celebrated their new year on the 1st of November, the day which marked the end of summer and the beginning of the dark cold winter. They believed that the night before the new year, the ghost would come to the world of living and the boundaries between the 2 worlds would blur. Hence, to protect themselves they celebrated the festivals of “Samhain” on the 31st of October, modernly know as “Halloween". They would wear costumes & light bonfires to ward off the ghosts. The word Halloween means ‘hallowed evening/holy evening’. Holy because the Celtic breeze would often make predictions about the future for the long & dark times that lay forward. That’s how Halloween started! The Celtics often carved faces on turnips or potatoes to light the way to their homes for the good spirit to enter. Later, when the Irish immigrants entered America , they discovered the pumpkin to be the new face of Halloween.

  A SWEET DREAM Author : SHRIYANS SACHITH Aquaman was the movie playing when I guess I shut my eyes on a lazy sunday afternoon after a heavy meal. The mermaid was beautiful as it looked at me with its blue eyes. She had long blonde hair and a smile that made me blush. I was in deep sea surrounded by various aquatic animals, lush topographand clear water. She held out her hand and said I should take it if I wanted a tour of the underwater world. I grabbed at her hand and almost fumbled with it. She laughed at my awkwardness and I smiled back with a foolish look. 'Come' she said' and led me into an astonishing world. The air bubbles floated around me as I breathed out deep. As we sped along, I noticed various fishes of all shapes and sizes. Each of them gawked at me with bewilderment while I waved at them.
