  Chir Batti Author : JUGAL SHETH A natural wonder is a type of creation made by God which is truly awesome, one of my favorite natural wonder is Chir Batti in Gujarat. Chir Batti is a ghost light reported in the Banni grasslands, seasonal marshy wetlands as well as the desert of Rann of Kutch. Local villagers refer to the light as Chir-Batti in the Kutchhhi language with Chir meaning ghosts and batti meaning light. At the night this light occurs as bright as a mercury lamp and changes colors to red, yellow and blue. Its speed is fast and it stops also. According to the local tales, it has been a part of their life. Some people say the light appears after 8 p.m. on dark nights. The BSF who patrol the border area of India-Pakistan of Rann of Kutch has observed it. It supports at least 37 species of grasses, 275 species of birds, 190 species of plants and several species of mammals and reptiles.
