POSITIVE IMPACTS OF A LOCKDOWN

POSITIVE IMPACTS OF A LOCKDOWN K Ayush Aug 13 2021 Most of us think lockdown is negative. How about you? Are you of the same opinion that lockdown has only disadvantages and no advantages. Well friends, then you may be wrong. Just as a coin has two sides, so does the lockdown too has positives and negatives. Let us forget the negatives and focus on the positives. Let's start with our environment. Before a lockdown was announced, streets were packed with vehicles and people. The smoke from the vehicles caused air pollution that resulted in a lot of diseases. Moreover, it had adverse effects on plants and animals too. How about now? Fewer vehicles on road mean minimum smoke and we get fresh air to breathe. The streets are clean and we can see lovely plants and trees growing. There is another exciting thing to be noticed. Fewer people mean animals need not be scared and can walk freely on the road. Recently, there was a flock of flamingos seen crossing the road without the fear of b

The Barter System

The Barter System AADI Aug 13 2021 Ok let's say your friend has the best thing in the world, and you really want it but if you be like "Yo, can you give that cool thing please?" their reply would be "NO!". "No" unless you had something they like, you give him your precious thing and you get what you wanted, this is the barter system. When we directly exchange goods or services for goods or services, it is called barter. But the catch is, you don't use any specific currency. This is nowadays rarely used. It was used in the olden times. I am not saying this is better than money, but I wanted to write something about History so that's why we are here. So what are some disadvantages of the Barter System? a) There needs to be a coincidence. - Both the peoples' needs should be fulfilled. b) Storage and Space. - The needs may range from a peanut to a log of wood c) Fixed Value. - There wasn't a fixed value, a piece of gold could sell for woo

I believe this is a great opportunity to upgrade our skill in addition to the Science taught in the class. I was part of a very interesting project that we did for a Science Exhibition organized by our school in April 2019. The project that we presented was – “SMART DUSTBIN”. There were three other projects but we chose this, since “Swach Bharat Abhiyaan” was being promoted and it is everybody’s job to keep the surroundings clean. We formed a team of 4 for this project and we learnt about sharing responsibility, sticking to timelines and strong coordination between the team members. We arranged for a dustbin, InfraRed sensors, Jumper WIRE and Arduino circuit. This project also required knowledge of Coding. We were so involved and excited about the project that we worked day a

How do Astronauts live in Space?

How do Astronauts live in Space? SUVAN PANICKER Aug 06 2021 Hello everyone today I am going to talk about how do astronauts live in space. Living in space is not the same as living on Earth. Many things are different. Our bodies change in space. The way we stay clean and neat is different too. Learn how astronauts stay strong, clean and neat. Living in space is not the same as living on Earth. In space, astronauts' bodies change. On Earth, our lower bodies and legs carry our weight. This helps keep our bones and muscles strong. In space, astronauts float. They do not use their legs much. Their lower backs begin to lose strength. Their leg muscles do too. The bones begin to get weak and thin. This is very bad for astronauts' bodies. So, how do astronauts help their muscles and bones? They must exercise in space every day. The astronauts have to rest so their bodies have time to make new blood and water. If they don't, they can feel very weak. They might even faint! On Earth,

Story Of Halloween!!

Story Of Halloween!! SIYONA Jul 30 2021 Hello everyone!! My name is Siyona Sachith and today I’m going to tell a story on Halloween!! Shhhhh!! It’s going to be spooky.. Halloween was started by Celts who lived 2000 years ago in an area which is now called as Ireland. The Celts celebrated their new year on the 1 st  of November, the day which marked the end of summer and the beginning of the dark cold winter. They believed that the night before the new year, the ghost would come to the world of living and the boundaries between the 2 worlds would blur. Hence, to protect themselves they celebrated the festivals of “Samhain” on the 31 st  of October, modernly know as “Halloween". They would wear costumes & light bonfires to ward off the ghosts. The word Halloween means ‘hallowed evening/holy evening’. Holy because the Celtic breeze would often make predictions about the future for the long & dark times that lay forward. That’s how Halloween started! The Celtics often carved f
